The Scout Troop is the oldest in age range of the Group's Sections, catering for young people of ages 10½ through to 14.  The Troop is led by Ian and Hazel.  The goal of the Troop is to encourage personal development and learning of a broad variety of skills.  A Scout that engages with the programme of meetings and events organised by the Troop should achieve Gold Chief Scout's Award.

The Troop is held to our Code of Conduct, put together with our young members:

  1. Respect everyone

  2. Respect property & equipment

  3. Play when it is play time, listen when it is listening time

  4. Do not abuse anyone, physically or verbally

  5. Be a good example to people around us

  6. Do our best in all activities

  7. Do not bring unnecessary items to meetings

  8. Think before we act

  9. Keep the Scout Promise and Law

  10. Have fun!

The Troop meets from 7:45pm every Wednesday during school term, most often at Christ Church rooms.  The Troop regularly engages with District and County activities, as well as events organised by the Group.  Regularly events run by the Troop include a May weekend camp with a specific focus/goal; a week-long summer camp in August; and a "Scouts Lead" camp in October, where the Scouts get to show off their leadership and organisational skills.
